INDIAN RIVER JELLYSTONE CAMPGROUND - It was a very sandy site, minimal shade in the morning and evening. Sewer access was higher than the camper and it was difficult to empty tanks. The pool was in the shape of Michigan (lower penninsula) and it had some of the major highways marked on it. We played candy bar bingo and They had an onsite mini-golf course, an ampitheater, fort and horseshoe pits (the stakes were only 4 inches high and the pits were enclosed in 4x4s. There were also low hanging trees in the way. We all decided to go tubing and Brandon graciously helped out the Thomas' by taking the floaties to the river in his truck. The floaties were tied down but the winds were quite rough on the trip and two flew out of the truck bed and were run over by Josh! Jackie's truck also suffered a blown out window due to a slipped bungee cord.

Camp changed name from Indian River Jellystone to Michigan Oaks! It was very dusty in camp and really smelly from sewers!

8/2 (DAY 1) - Matt, Jay, Brau and John went out on the razors and quads with Tracy and Kelly while Josh, Jeani and Ellie went to Cheboygen and shopped at Walmart. Then all the kids, Josh, Jeani, Kevin and Grandma went swimming in the Michigan shaped pool.

8/3 (DAY 2) - Lounged around camp, went to Mackinaw City and shopped. The Thomas's had ice creams from a cool shop that had flavored waffle cones! Josh took the kids and Kyrie back to camp while Amy, Jeani, Kelly, Tracy, and Maria did some more shopping and wine tasting. Josh stopped at the Chillermania HQ with the kids and met with the author of Michigan Chillers! Cool guy he posed for a pic and he even autographed the books for the kids and Josh! Afterwards They went swimming in the pool during a rain storm!Josh and Matt golfed at The Indian River Country Club. It was nice and challenging, but both agreed that the Eldorado was WAY better and nicer. We had a two-some behind us and they said that there was a pair of Karens behind them that called the pro shop on them for "not raking the sand trap, letting a young girl drive the cart and for playing too slowly!" They weren't playing slowly, it was because they were waiting on us, while we waited on a four-some two groups ahead! Unreal. Josh and Matt also went razor riding again and saw a turkey and some deer. Josh took a panorama photo of Pigeon River on the ride. Maddie and Ellie swam in the pool and said it was really cold. We had BC's Pizza for dinner and it was really good! The Sicken's brought a self standing badminton net. It is a great product, well packaged and easy to setup and play!

8/4 (DAY 3) - Matt and Jay smoked brisket for dinner all day, Amy and Kelly did laundry while the Thomas's went on a hike at the Agnes S. Andreae Preserve. It was a nice 2 mile hike. Ellie took pictures on the old digital camera and we saw the Nature Megaphone, which amplified our voices over the Pigeon River. Josh, Jeani and Joey played Clue Master Detective and Clue: the travel card game! All families went swimming in the pool before dinner. John and Tracy had an accident with their car. They got rear ended by a distracted driver. No injuries but the rear of the car is smashed in and his trailer hitch is damaged.

8/5 (DAY 4) - The Thomas's and the VanSickles went to Burt Lake State Park with the dogs and went swimming. The kids played Putt Putt at camp in a rain storm. Josh baked a yellow dump cake for after dinner. The rest of the group went riding all day.

8/11 (DAY 10) - Lounging day. Thomas's went to the see the Cross in the Woods and then to the U.P. And climbed up Castle Rock. Joey bought a whip and the girls loved the wooden turtle. Then we drove to a scenic viewing spot to take pics of the Mackinac Bridge. We then went to eat at the Rusted Spoke Brewing Co. Jeani, Joey and Josh played Clue Master Detective again.

Camp changed name from Michigan Oaks to Twin Bears Wooded Campground!

7/2 (DAY 1) - Travel day. Thomas's thought that by leaving early on Friday they would beat the traffic. That was not the case. There were slow downs near Frankenmuth, Saginaw, and Bay City. Thankfully, it didn't take us long to get through them. We had to stop twice. Once because Sophie had swamp ass and the second for fuel. Even though Josh put $100 in he had to go into Indian River to get the last quarter tank! In other news, the campground formerly known as Indian River Jellystone and then Michigan Oaks has changed hands once again. Apparently 8 weeks ago it became known as Twin Bears Wooded Campground! We are on site 2, our sewer is on the right side, the power and water are on the wrong side. Weather is beautiful! Low 70's and partly cloudy.

7/3 (DAY 2) - De-Camp and continue journey to Ontanogon, MI! see River Road RV Park for the rest of the trip!

7/6 (WED) - The Thomas's arrived to camp with Maddie from Camp Cadillac. The back half of the campground was vacant due a lightning strike taking out one of their transformers. It is nice not being so crowded but they have some pretty strict rules. Absolutely NO trash in the fire pit. No outside firewood, yeah right, and the store/ice cream parlor is closed at odd hours or not even open. Seems like only three people work here. Matt and Josh rode in the razor and found a couple of possible fishing spots. Holly and Sophie are super excited about the chipmunks and small squirrels all around here.

7/7 (THU) - Matt and Kevin went fishing in the morning at the spots that were found yesterday. They weren't gone long due to no fish biting. Josh was able to get some distances in at this camp and it is super odd to not have any people in the back half of the camp! THe entire group decided to go kayaking down the Indian River. Ellie and Maddie rode a 2-person catamaran kayak, while Matt and Amy had a two-person sit on kayak, while Josh, Jeani, Kevin and Maria all rode in a raft. It was an adventure. 'Nuff said.

7/8 (FRI) - Josh and Matt golfed at The Indian River Country Club. It was nice and challenging, but both agreed that the Eldorado was WAY better and nicer. We had a two-some behind us and they said that there was a pair of Karens behind them that called the pro shop on them for "not raking the sand trap, letting a young girl drive the cart and for playing too slowly!" We had BC's Pizza for dinner and it was really good! The Sicken's brought a self standing badminton net and Great product, well packaged.

7/9 (SAT) - The Thomas's and Maddie went on a hike at the Agnes Andreae Nature Preserve to see Nature's Megaphone barrel. We all went to the beach and swam in Burt Lake. The water was so low that we went out ~200 yards and the water was only hip deep! The water was warmer than the pool, according to the girls. We played badminton again and everyone had a good time.

7/10 (SUN) - Time to go home!
