Camp had a waterslide built into the mountain side! Fishing pond was stocked but it was full of carp. The bugs and humidity were unbearable! Some of the attractions and events that we did were: Ripleys Aquarium, Climbed a tower at Smokey Mtns. Clingmans Dome, Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, TN. Jeani and Joey did the Earthquake Adventure. Josh, Joey, and Grandpa V all went in the Star Cars attraction. Sickens too. We spent a lot of time at the pool and on the mountain water slide. We discovered Apple Pie Moonshine! We went White Water Rafting with the Lewtons and Jay and Lauren fell in. Josh rescued Jay while Jeani rescued Lauren. Kevin with the Angyals then the Sickens also did a white water rafting trip. Grandparents watched the Thomas kids. It was the most humid and uncomfortable trip ever. The ACs were freezing up and we sat around a box fan instead of the fire. Brandon had a bad reaction to the Chicken Paprikasch and laid on a boulder for comfort. Kevin attempted to take pictures with his laptop and dropped it in the river. He spent the rest of the trip trying to dry it out. He did get it working again. The Sickens, Angyals and Lewtons kids befriended a local feral child, which they named: Stevie Possum.

Joey caught a crayfish/crawdaddy an hour after we arrived and setup camp! Shopped in town and Josh and Ellie went on the Earthquake ride. It was pretty lame.
Andrea and girls, Kevin and Maria and the Thomass hiked to the top of Clingmans Dome and a little bit of the Appalachian Trail. We also stoped at Newfound Gap and the visitor center. The Thomass then went to town and visited the Ripleys Aquqrium. Joey and Ellie loved it. Joey more.
The Lewtons, Sickens and Thomass all played Hillbilly Golf in town. We had to take a tram ride up a hill to get to the start of the course!
Everyone went up on a tram ride in Ober Gatlinburg to the top of the mountain and then Joey, Ellie, Kelly, Jason, Meg and Lauren all rode the Alpine Coaster, Ellie did the Human Maze and the Rock Wall. The Thomass rose the ski lift to the top of the mountain and saw the rain storm hit Gatlinburg, where the Sickens and Lewtons were! We even saw a huge rainbow. Josh called out a glum kid on his way up, to Joeys amusement!
Jeani bought Texas rolls for dinner in town!
The Thomass went horseback riding at Jayell Ranch. Joey rode Blackjack, Jeani rode Charlotte, Ellie rode Smokey, and Josh rode Hitler. Then they went back to Gatlinburg and went in the Guiness Records building which turned out to be a big arcade to try and beat the world records. Then the Thomass and VanSickles all went to Dolly Partons Stampede (formerly Dixie Stampede but name changed for Political correctness in 2018).
Last day was spent at camp swimming and sliding. Ellie played in the creek with the VanSickle girls for a couple of hours on Friday.
Jake had to go to the hospital due to coming in contact with Poison Sumac when his family went on the same horseback riding adventure. The Sickens also went White Water Rafting on Thursday.
Thomass site is very grassy and cool. (222)
Sickens site is very muddy and moldy due to the shade and proximity to the creek. (215)
VanSickles (211) and Lewtons (212) Sites are all gravel and no place to park the vehicles. Also very close to the creek for the kids to play in.
