Image Location Items Needed Description
Blue Tunic

Blue Tunic
Color Dungeon None On completing the Color Dungeon, Link finds himself in a room with Koholint Island's Fairy Queen, who will offer him the choice between the blue tunic which doubles defence, or the red tunic which doubles offensive attacks. Whichever he chooses, he can return to the Fairy Queen at a later time to switch to the other option.
Flippers

Flippers
Angler's Tunnel After defeating Hydrosoar The Flippers in Link's Awakening are found in Angler's Tunnel shortly after defeating Hydrosoar. They allow Link to swim in deep water. Pressing the A button allows him to briefly paddle faster, and pressing B allows him to dive. In some locations, items such as Pieces of Heart can be found underwater. There are also underwater passages, such as the one leading to Catfish's Maw, which Link can access by diving.
Golden Leaf

Golden Leaf
Kanalet Castle None The Golden Leaves are valuable possessions of Richard in Link's Awakening. He beseeches Link to retrieve them from Kanalet Castle. His servants drove him out of his own castle and he was forced to escape to his villa. He offers to give Link the key to Key Cavern if Link helps him. There are five leaves hidden around Kanalet Castle in total. As a reward for collecting the leaves, Richard opens the passage into Pothole Field, where Link can dig up the Slime Key using a Shovel.
  • First Leaf - One leaf is found in the east of Kanalet Castle. Link finds a Mad Bomber that pops out of one of five holes randomly and throws bombs. Once Link defeats it, he receives a Golden Leaf.
  • Second Leaf - Another leaf is found on the opposite side of Kanalet Castle, in the west. There is a Crow who will not move unless Link lifts a rock with the Power Bracelet and throws it at the Crow. Upon its defeat it yields another Golden Leaf.
  • Third Leaf - Just west after entering the castle, Link must defeat a Zol and two Darknuts to make a Golden Leaf fall from the ceiling.
  • Fourth Leaf - The fourth leaf is also found inside of the castle. When Link goes up the stairs, the first room is empty aside from a Spark and two strange symbols on the wall resembling Mad Bombers. If Link bombs the one on the left, a Darknut appears that can be killed to receive the fourth Golden Leaf.
  • Fifth Leaf - After opening a door by throwing a pot at it, Link can find a Ball and Chain Soldier in a room accessible from the roof of Kanalet Castle. If he defeats it, he will get the fifth and final Golden Leaf. He can then take it back to Richard for his reward.
Green Tunic

Green_Tunic
Start the game with them None The Green Tunic is the name of Link's starting outfit in Link's Awakening DX.
Red Tunic

Red Tunic
Color Dungeon None On completing the Color Dungeon, Link finds himself in a room with Koholint Island's Fairy Queen, who will offer him the choice between the blue tunic which doubles defense, or the red tunic which doubles offensive attacks. Whichever he chooses, he can return to the Fairy Queen at a later time to switch to the other option.
Secret Medicine

Secret Medicine
Crazy Tracy Spa None Secret Medicine can be purchased from Crazy Tracy in her spa or occasionally found in treasure chests. The price varies between 28 Rupees and 42 Rupees, depending on whether a hidden counter of the monsters defeated by Link is even or odd, respectively. On every 8th purchase, she gives Link a 7 Rupee discount.) After Link purchases it, she helps him apply it and also refills his hearts as a bonus. The Secret Medicine works in a similar manner to Fairies from other games. When Link dies, it automatically brings him back to life and restores his hearts. However, Link can only carry one dose of the Secret Medicine at a time, or Crazy Tracy refuses to sell it to him.
Sleepy Toadstool

Sleepy Toadstool
Mysterious Forest None Link can find a Sleepy Toadstool in the west of the Mysterious Forest after traversing through a cave. If Link brings it to the witch Syrup in her hut in Koholint Prairie, she will make him Magic Powder. If Link needs more Magic Powder, he can collect another toadstool from the forest and bring it to her.
Secret Seashell

Secret Seashell
Everywhere None In the original Game Boy release and DX remaster, there are 26 Secret Seashells on Koholint Island, but only 20 are required to collect the L-2 Sword from Seashell Mansion. Bonus seashells are given there after collecting five shells and ten shells respectively, but only if Link goes there when he has precisely the right number - i.e., once Link has collected six seashells, he can no longer get the bonus seashell for collecting five. If Link collects the sword, any remaining seashells will disappear.
Secret Seashells can be found hidden all over Koholint. They are often found in chests, in grass cut down with the sword, under rocks lifted with the Power Bracelet, or recovered from the ground with the shovel. Some have more unique methods of obtaining them, such as knocking them down from a tree with the Pegasus Boots, or receiving them as gifts in the Seashell Mansion.
