Camp had two Yurts on site, a climbing wall, which the kids loved, a bounce castle, and a bungee cord jumper! Camp also had movie night every night around a huge bonfire. The kids really enjoyed this place, however, the lakes had some bacteria that forced us to swim far out and away from the beach, and we had a tremendous storm that made the camper leak. Just a little.
NOTES=Sickens, VanSickles, Thomas, Lewtons, and Angyals went on this trip. The Angyals stayed in the yurt! It rained really bad one day and the water was coming in the side of Jeani's camper. All the boys had RC cars and they raced them daily, until they broke and we had to go to Traverse City to try and get spare parts. Josh's truck also needed to get a brake job done badly! Matt had to go the hospital because of kidney stones and we all went to John Martinelli's birthday party afterward.

Well this camp didn't start out well. They are under new management and are run by non-english speaking teenagers. They tried to put us in a inadequate (short and tree filled) site instead of the reserved pull thru site that we paid for. The kids had a really good time at the State Park beach, which they swam at 3 different times. Joey caught a minnow in a bucket, barehanded! Alex and Ellie buried Joey in sand and sculpted a Genie/Bodybuilder body for him! Ellie also got buried in sand, but sadly, no sculpting. Ellie also found buried treasure, a horeshoe and a sand toy, while Joey found sunken treasure, a really good swim mask! We had a great barbeque at Tracy's Mom's cabin. Brau dropped his food in the bushes! The girls (Jeani, Amy, and Tracy) all golfed at the Ye Olde Country Club, then the guys (Matt, Brau, John, and Johnny) all golfed there. Josh went tubing with the families and saved Grandma from going down the wrong river! Joey and Alex saved an elderly couple in a canoe from being tipped by trees and the current. Very proud of them both! Matt blew a tire on his Razor scooter. Josh went golfing at the same course on the 4th, with Joey. Joey got to drive the golf cart around and they had a good time. Josh shot a 54, not bad for a first time on the unknown course. Matt took Joey and Josh out on the trails in the Razor. It was super dusty and dirty and hot, but fun. Alex, Joey, and Jeani all formed a fire-brigade line to load up the truck with firewood, which they enjoyed. Well not Jeani. Extra note about the site. It was so unlevel that Josh had great difficulty getting the truck unhitched from the camper on Friday night. The water spigots were constantly dripping/spraying water. Josh but down a gallon bucket and timed it, it was full in 39 minutes. They lost 150 gallons of water over time we were there! Wasteful. The campground faults aside, we had a really good time.

Day 1 - This camping trip had some pretty serious milestones/events: Hollys first camping trip! First camping trip without Bailey aka Brown Dog. She passed away 2 days before we left. And camping during Covid-19. The camp store and all amenities are closed. No bathhouses or playground equipment are open. All state parks in the area are closed and that means no swimming at the beach! We have arrived at camp. Thomas site is directly across the street from their site from 2017! Trip was uneventful except for seeing the high water near the Zilwaukee Bridge due to the 2 dams that failed on the Titabawassee River. Lots of rivers are extremely high but no water over the highway. Campfire first night. Joey tried to make Jiffy Pop over the fire and then John Martinelli took over and dropped it in the fire!

Day 2 - Josh cooked breakfast burgers and helped Kevin level his camper. Matt had to buy a new toilet and thermostat from Camper World. Wrong thermostat. ;-( Matt, Jay, Beau, John and their wives went riding today. Matts razor blew a tire, and over heated. Turns out the impeller in the water pump ate itself. Joey and Alex walked 1.5 miles to a creek. They wore knives for protection. The saw running water, it looked red and oily. Few minnows and lots of snails and some isopods in the water. Joey tried to grab it, bumped his head on a branch, freaked and dropped it. They also saw a dead catfish dried up. We had chicken for dinner. Josh spent 5 hours sorting pics on his new laptop.

Night of day 2: 4:10am rain starts and ramps up in intensity. I had to stumble out and lower one side of the awning and close the bin under my bed. 5:30 still awake but rain has stopped.

Day 3 - Matt and Amy have made breakfast burritos. No one rides because Matts razor is kaput. Josh took the dogs on a hike and then got gas and bottles of water. He sorted more pictures and actually found time to write some more of the outline for book 2! Jeani and Ellie played Animal Crossing all day with Amy. Turnips!! Turnips for sale and buy! Joey hung with Alex and Jake. Brandon went home early. John and Tracey did the same thing. Jay took pics of the dog beds that Josh made for Amy and Maria. We had spaghetti for dinner. Josh was able to write more of the outline for book 2. Amy did her Squidward interpretative dance routine around the campfire.

Day 4 - Pack up and head home. The Covid-19 faults aside, we had a really good time.
